Government of India urged Indians to make India a nation of "healthy people, healthy family & healthy society" when the Prime Minister of India launched the Fit India Movement because "if the body is fit, mind is a hit".
FIT INDIA Movement was launched on 29th August, 2019 by Honourable Prime Minister with a view to make fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioural changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle.
The Fit India Freedom Run was conducted from 15th August 2020 to 2nd October 2020. The Prime Minister's call was answered by 19 St. Johnians' from class III - XII and they covered a cumulative distance of 45 km.
It was conducted from 7th December 2020 to 12th December 2020 in which 25 participants of St. John's rode a cumulative distance of 75 km.
A large number of students of Classes III to V performed free hand exercises.
Students of Classes III to VIII prepared nutritious food to spread the message that healthy food is primary component of healthy body.
Different types of asanas were performed by the students like:
Pavan Muktasana
Parvatasana
Tadasana
Matsyasana
Hastottanasana
Gomukhasana etc.
Sports is followed so passionately in St. John's that our students have won medals and trophies even at the National level. There are innumerable achievements at the District & State level too. Every St.Johnian is taught to accept the challenges, so that he/she can feel the exhilaration of victory.
